Prepare a brief that supports an accurate quotation
State the destination country, sales channel, preferred litter type, pack size, expected order quantity and target launch timing. Add the performance requirements that matter to your customers and identify any claims that will appear on the packaging.
If you already have a reference product, explain what you want to retain or improve. A clear comparison is more useful than broad requests such as 'premium quality' or 'best clumping.'
Confirm the product before final artwork
Available choices for fragrance, granule size, color or functional additives depend on the litter material and production feasibility. Ask the supplier to confirm suitable options before treating them as part of the specification.
Evaluate representative samples using agreed conditions. Record the approved product details and any measurable acceptance criteria so the sample can serve as a practical reference for the order.
Coordinate packaging and production requirements
Packaging planning should cover the bag format, fill weight, artwork file, barcode, language, carton marks and pallet requirements. Responsibilities for design, regulatory copy and final artwork approval should be clearly assigned between the buyer and supplier.
Ask for a quotation that states what is included, the applicable order quantity and the assumptions behind timing. Packaging material preparation, sample approval and production scheduling can each affect the final lead time.
